The P-Duke MPQ60W series, available now from Luso Electronics is a high-performance DC-DC converter designed for employment in numerous medical and homecare applications, including laser treatment, electrosurgical systems, medical aesthetic, endoscopic devices, physiotherapy chairs, patient monitoring, drug delivery, defibrillation equipment, among many others.

Due to its low leakage current of less than 4.5μA, these converters can also be utilised for the most rigorous classification of type-CF applied part (cardiac floating) equipment.

This series is certified according to IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, IEC/EN 60601-1-2, 4th edition and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1. It is designed with 5000VAC reinforced 2 x MOPP insulation, 250VAC working voltage and 8mm air clearance and creepage distance.

These high-density power converters offer 60W output power in a quarter-brick package and possess a patented transformer design, enabling the converters to perform with up to 92.5% efficiency. The optimised manufacturing process and construction, certified to ISO 13485, ensures the highest reliability. They have a 4:1 input range of 9-36VDC and 18-75VDC and are equipped with protection circuits for over/under-voltage protection, over-current and short-circuit and over-temperature protection. The available ISO 14971 Risk Management file supports designers in developing technical documentation for medical devices.

These units are also compliant with MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration. With an operating altitude of up to 5000m and a wide operating ambient temperature range of -40C to +105C, makes these converters an excellent choice for powering any medical application where a safety barrier is needed.
