Nexperia has released nine new power bipolar transistors, increasing its portfolio of products in the thermally and electrically advantageous DPAK package to include applications from 2A to 8A and from 45V up to 100V. The new MJD series parts are pin-to-pin compatible with other MJD devices in DPAK-package. They also provide notable reliability benefits.

Offered as automotive-qualified AEC-Q101 devices and industrial-grade parts, the new series is rated at 2A 50V (MJD2873/-Q), 3A 100V (MJD31CH-Q), 4A 45V (MJD148/-Q), and 6A 100V (MJD41C /-Q and MJD42C /-Q). The MJD31CH-Q is intended as a high gain version. All parts provide class-leading DPAK package reliability performance, with an industry-standard footprint. The bipolar transistors are ideal for a broad range of applications, including LED automotive lighting; linear voltage regulators; backlight dimming in LCDs; relay replacement, motor drives and MOSFET drivers.

Pedram Zoroofchi, product manager at Nexperia, comments: “Nexperia is known as a high volume, high-quality supplier for a broad customer base. By widening our MJD series of power bipolar transistors, we provide designers with additional voltage-current options in a robust DPAK package. Therefore, our customers can benefit from the renowned quality and performance offered by Nexperia as a high-performance supplier.”
