Hirose has enhanced its high-speed ix Industrial connector family to incorporate a horizontal mount PCB connector which supports space-constrained applications that need Cat.6a Ethernet cabling. The IX60G Series has decreased mounting needs providing a space-saving of up to 75% compared to other Ethernet solutions such as RJ45 connectors.

Compliant to IEC PAS 61076-3-124, the series delivers low-inductance, high EMC resistance and superior EMI shielding to provide secure, safe and stable data transmission. The rugged, vibration-resistant connector is typically used as a next-generation standard connector in equipment including factory automation controllers, HMIs, industrial robotics, security systems, servo amps, servers, programmable logic controllers, robotics and more.

Now available in upright right angle, horizontal right angle, and vertical mount options, the series provides a positive metal lock for secure connectivity in harsh environmental conditions. A plug spring and lock pin decrease rattling for exceptional vibration resistance. The lock pin also stops scraping of the contact area. A robust shell design stops solder wicking and enables through-hole mounting close to the mating area for firm PCB retention.

"Hirose continues to revolutionise the industrial market with new miniaturise standard ethernet connectors that meet Industry Cat6a (10Gbps) requirements," said Mark Kojak, VP of sales and marketing for Hirose Electric USA. "The ix Industrial connector has already established a track record of success in the industrial market, and Hirose aims to further expand its ix Industrial product offering to serve a wide array of industrial devices and equipment."
