OSRAM Opto Semiconductors SFH 4737 IR Broadband Emitter, available now from Mouser, is precisely created to support the near-infrared spectroscopy. This IR emitter provides a 650nm to 1050nm spectral span of emission to match the sensitivity of low-cost Si-based detectors.

The device offers high-intensity, increased wavelength, smooth spectrum, high-efficiency, smaller emission angle, fast modulation capability, and long lifetime.

This device is ideally employed in IR spectroscopy like mobile spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging for food industry in monitoring food quality; bill validation: find out currency and amount, counterfeit check; identify counterfeit pills; and agriculture: define optimal time for harvesting and monitor product quality.
