Mouser now stocks the Panasonic PAN1740A Series RF module. The device provides a fully integrated baseband processor and radio transceivers for Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy connectivity. This compact module supports up to eight connections. It provides decreased boot time, offering a suitable solution for remote control units that necessitate support for motion and gesture recognition and voice commands.

The module integrates an audio unit to give a simple interface for external codecs over PCM/I²S, MEMS microphones over PDM, and a sample rate converter unit. Offering a programmable Arm Cortex-M0 CPU, the adaptable module can be employed as a standalone application processor or as a data pump in hosted systems. The module draws only 4.9mA in transmit or receive mode, enabling the usage of coin cell batteries with no decrease of signal range or transmit power. The 9mm x 9.5mm x 1.8mm module provides a link budget of 93dBm (Rx sensitivity: -93 dBm, Tx sensitivity 0dBm).

The transceiver is fully certified with the Bluetooth 5.0 standard and EU CE RED, FCC and IC. The module highlights dedicated hardware for the link layer implementation of BLE, and support custom profiles and all Bluetooth SIG profiles.

The module is supported by the PAN1740A evaluation kit. Composed of two easy-to-use USB dongles, the evaluation kit provides a USB-to-UART converter and enables hardware access to the module pins. It also offers a J-Link debug interface to evaluate custom firmware.
