Mouser is now stocking the PAN1780 module from Panasonic. The ultra-low-power Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 module facilitates the transmission of vast amounts of data in connectionless environments, giving a compact solution for IoT, beacon, and mesh network applications.

The module is based on the Nordic nRF52840 single-chip controller, which gives an Arm Cortex-M4F processor core with 1mb of embedded flash memory and 256kb of internal RAM. The robust SoC enables engineers to utilise the module in standalone mode, which removes the requirement for an external processor, lessens cost, and frees board space. The module also offers an Arm TrustZone CryptoCell 310 security core that supports a secure boot process and makes it an excellent solution for edge computing applications.

The module's Bluetooth 5.0 features allow a high symbol rate of 2Mbps employing the high-speed LE 2M PHY or a significantly longer range utilising the LE coded PHY at either 500Kbps or 125Kbps. A high output power of up to +8dBm and great sensitivity of the nRF52840 (-103dBm at 125Kbps) in combination with the LE coded PHY make the module excellent for applications that need long-range communication. As well as Bluetooth Low Energy with qualified Bluetooth mesh profile stack, the module supports 802.15.4 (Thread and Zigbee) and NFC-A.

The compact 15.6mm x 8.7mm x 20mm module offers the same form factor as PAN1026A and PAN1762 modules but offers smaller pitch and more pins. The module provides a space-effective solution for smart city infrastructure, industrial mesh networks, Industry 4.0 robotics, and smart medical applications.
