Texas Instruments bq24800EVM Controller EVM is an SMBus two-cell to four-cell hybrid power boost mode battery charge controller with hybrid boost and processor hot monitoring. The device input voltage range is between 4.5V and 24V, with a programmable output of two to four cells charge voltage and 128mA to 8.128A charge current. This company's evaluation module does not include the EV2400 interface device. This must be obtained separately to evaluate the EVM.

The EVM features host-controlled 2-S to 4-S battery buck charger with 3.2V to 24V input; 1V to 19.2V charging output, and hybrid power boost mode to give system power from adapter and battery simultaneously. The device peak power mode optimises adapter utilisation without discharging the battery. The battery-only boost mode extends battery usable range.
