Power supply features an innovative thermal baseplate design

RECOM’s new 550W AC/DC power supplies enable fanless operation with an innovative thermal baseplate design for industrial, medical, ITE and household applications.

The new ultra-compact RACM550-G series from RECOM is created to support up to 300W of continuous output power with no cooling fans. The device offers a highly efficient 3"x 5" baseplate-cooled design measuring only 38mm total height and allows direct heat dissipation through metal housings in the end application. Up to 550W of peak power with nominal outputs 24V, 36V, 48V, 56V are offered to drive dynamic loads for several seconds, with forced air dependent on model, line input and ambient temperature even continuously. A 12V smart fan output is offered as standard as well as a 5V/1A VSB output for applications with housekeeping circuits and on/off control.

In standby mode, the units spend less than 500mW of power and they give up to 5V/400mW output for display functions according to Ecodesign lot 6 needs. The wide input range of 80VAC to 264VAC, up to 5000m operating altitude, operating ambient temperatures of -40C to +70C, and international safety agency certifications present the series worldwide-compliant for medical 2MOPP (250VAC), household, industrial and ITE applications. The series is offered as an open-frame design or in an enclosed metal housing.
