Robust I/O devices with CAN FD for in-house developments

The Peak-System's new I/O module PCAN-MicroMod FD is, in addition to its application as a plug-in module for in-house developments, now also offered with ready-to-use motherboards in black aluminium profile casings. The devices provide peripherals in variable versions for specific demands. The data exchange is accomplished via CAN FD, which is downward compatible with classic CAN 2.0.

The motherboard PCAN-MicroMod FD Analog 1 emphasises analog inputs and outputs, where eight inputs, amongst others, have a resolution of 16 bits. On the digital variants of the motherboards, eight outputs are given either as low-side switches (digital 1) or high-side switches (digital 2). All motherboards have one analog input in common for voltage monitoring up to 30V, and two further frequency outputs up to 20kHz.

The configuration of the motherboards is achieved easily with the supplied Windows software and is transmitted via CAN. The motherboards then run as independent CAN nodes. The cabling of the devices is achieved via spring terminal connectors. Operation is possible in the extended temperature range from -40C to +85C (-40F to +185F).
