This surface mount Xenon, flashing beacon, 115VAC, 230VAC from RS Components are of the flashing mode type (single-stage alarm) and is ideal for a broad range of local signalling applications where a low cost and energy-efficient solution is needed.

Xenon beacons (sometimes called strobes) are controlled via a PCB and sends out a very brief but bright flash of white light by ionising and then discharging a large current through the xenon gas. The unit is supplied fully assembled ready for installation and has two mounting options, stud mount or surface mount using a two-piece fixing plate. One plate is fixed to the appropriate surface, the other to the device. The two plates then ’snap-fit’ together.

The device has a current consumption of 50mA, 100mA. The device base diameter is 76mm with a height of 50mm. The beacon has an IP Rating of IP67.v
