ADZ’s force sensor available from Variohm EuroSensor has produced a novel load sensor that gives a high precision force output up to 500N and temperature compensated range of -20C to +60C. The extremely durable IP69K environment-rated sensor provides a broad choice of analogue or digital signal output options and features a compact screw-mounted design that easily integrates into safety-critical mechanical structures.

The new sensor is based on the company's load cell technology with mechanical force introduced into the output signal. An accuracy of ±2% FSO at +25C and ±4% FSO at -20C t0+60C assures practical operation covering a wide temperature range. A fully-sealed design with titanium wetted parts and a substantial shock and vibration rating facilitate employment in the toughest industrial environments.

Users can select analogue output options of 4-20mA current loop, 0V to 10V, or ratiometric while digital options incorporate CANopen, J1939, and I2C. Currently, the range options offered are 0 to 200N and 0 to 500N. Applications comprise industrial and construction machinery, crane and hoist, weighing technology, injection moulding machines, robotics and handling, and more.
