High temperature gate drive optocoupler suited for fast switching driving of power IGBT and MOSFETs

ON Semiconductor FOD3125 High-Temperature Gate Drive Optocoupler, available now from Mouser, provides a 2.5A output current and is created to drive most medium power IGBT/MOSFET at high temperatures up to 125C. The device is ideal for fast switching driving of power IGBT and MOSFETs employed in motor control inverter applications and high-performance power systems. The gate drive optocoupler uses the proprietary ON Semiconductor Optoplanar packaging technology and optimised IC design to produce high noise immunity, characterised by high common mode rejection.

The optocoupler comprises an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a high-speed driver for push-pull MOSFET output stage.

Typical applications include industrial inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, induction heating, and isolated IGBT/power MOSFET gate drives.
