On-board battery charging for hybrid or full electric vehicles in industrial environments

Bel Power Solutions has released the BCN25-700-8, a 25kW on-board battery charger that converts three-phase AC voltage to DC voltage. The enclosure is constructed of aluminium alloy and is liquid-cooled. Producing 25kW of output power for a single unit, and up to 100kW of output power for four units, the device has high efficiency and high reliability, with a compact footprint of 524mm x 340mm x 84mm (20.63" x 13.39" x 3.31") and weighing only 19.4kg (42.77lbs). The company's new hybrid/electric battery charger highlights an input voltage at three-phase of 460VAC-575VAC (line to line) and an output voltage from 250VDC to 800VDC, 37.5A, with galvanic isolation between the input and output. The device is compliant to SAE J1939 for CAN Bus communication while the case is IP65 and IP57 compliant. Safety standards incorporate UL2202 and CE approvals. Typical applications for construction, industrial and mining comprise charging full electric vehicles where no neutral is needed. It should be noted that this charger is designed for industrial environments and is not meant to connect to any public grid.
