Diodes Incorporated AEC-Q100 Qualified Linear LED Controllers are intended to meet the stringent demands of automotive applications. These Linear LED Controllers, available now from Mouser, monolithically integrate diodes, transistors, and resistors to function as a CCR for linear LED driving. The technology is replacing conventional bulbs throughout the automotive industry, from external lighting, including as side markers, puddle lighting and sill plates, to internal lighting as well as dome, ambient lights, instrument clusters, and button backlighting. These devices are designed to meet the requirements of all these applications, offering a simple, low-profile, and flexible approach to driving low-power LED strings. Each of these LED controllers can provide a pre-set current output without the need for any external components, or deliver an adjustable constant current controlled by a sense resistor connected across FB pin and GND. Most of these devices can also be dimmed by a PWM signal through the PWM pin. The devices are available in industry-standard SOT-25, SOT-26, low-profile DFN2020, and the thermally robust PowerDI123 package options and are all supported by PPAP documentation.
