Low power consumption voltage regulators features stand-by function

Torex Semiconductor has launched the XD6216 – a new series of voltage regulators. The series are positive voltage regulator ICs with 28V of operation voltage. The series comprises of an error amplifier, a current limiter, a voltage reference, a thermal shutdown circuit and a phase compensation circuit plus a driver transistor. The output voltage is selectable in 0.1V increments in the range of 1.8V to 12V using laser trimming technologies. The output stabilisation capacitor (CL) is also compatible with low ESR ceramic capacitors. The overcurrent protection circuit and thermal shutdown circuit are built-in. These two circuits will function when the output current reaches current limit level or the junction temperature touches temperature limit level. The CE function allows output to be turned off and the IC becomes a stand-by mode resulting in considerably reduced power consumption. These environmentally-friendly products comply with the EU RoHS Directive and are lead-free.
