Low loss DIN rail redundancy module has load sharing balance indication

15-02-2019 | TDK | Power

TDK Corporation has introduced the DRM40 series of DIN rail mount redundancy modules. Two 10V to 30VDC inputs are each rated at 20A and the output at 40A. A 150% peak load ability for four seconds is offered for capacitive and inductive loading. The internal MOSFET reverse current protection devices provide a low 200mV drop, lessening voltage losses in the module. An LED on the front panel gives a visual indication when both input currents are balanced and evenly sharing the output load. Applications for the modules comprise factory automation, process control and test and measurement equipment where two power supplies are employed in a redundant configuration, paralleled to achieve higher power or for battery charging purposes. The series is housed in a metal enclosure, measuring 124mm (H) x 125mm (D) x 35mm (W). The modules are rated for full load operation in -40C to +70C ambient temperatures. Both units are safety certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 and UL 508, and CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives.
