Enabled-touch displays on any glass surface

RDS are offering one of the world’s most transparent and reliable displays which feature Lumineq Touch Technology built in. Enabled by atomic layer deposition (ALD) these displays can be used in applications where fully transparent properties are required. Anywhere there is glass there is an opportunity for integrating these touch-enabled displays. For example, it could be used in vehicles, such as a window keypad concept where you can unlock your car door, or when car sharing enter a code, possibly adjust the car sunroof from dark to clear – all done with a single touch. The Lumineq Transparent Thin Film Electroluminescent displays (TASEL) comprise of a solid-state glass panel and an electronic control circuit. The glass panel has a luminescent phosphorous layer sandwiched between transparent dielectric layers and conductive ITO electrodes. By applying a voltage to the electrodes, a pixel/segment is lit making the area of intersection emit light. The ALD allows very precise thin films – a nanometer thick – assuring reliable, rugged displays with unique transparency and performance capabilities.
