Analog Devices offers a new sensor interface IC that supports the next generation of intelligent electrochemical sensors. It is claimed to be the only solution available to include potentiostat and EIS functionality on a single chip. The ADuCM355 precision analog microcontroller with bio-sensor and chemical sensor interface is an excellent option for applications including instrumentation, industrial gas sensing, vital signs monitoring and disease management. The device offers what s claimed to be the industry’s most advanced sensor diagnostics, with best-in-class low noise and also low power performance, in a small form factor. The new microcontroller platform offers increased reliability, utmost flexibility and significant cost savings in comparison to traditional discrete solutions. “Analog Devices’ new ADuCM355 uniquely combines the high performance, ultra-low power, small form factor and advanced feature set needed to enable next generation portable gas detectors,” said Jacob Spector, global marketing manager, Portable Gas Detection for Honeywell Industrial Safety. “We are excited about the ability to leverage this platform solution to set new benchmarks in reliable gas detection while minimizing the cost of ownership for our customers.” “PalmSens is committed to make electrochemistry easier, more portable and more accessible for customers,” said Niels van Velzen, CTO at PalmSens. “ADI’s ADuCM355 is at the heart of the new EmStat Pico, the world’s smallest general purpose Electrochemical Interface Module. EmStat Pico is a complete hardware and software design platform that allows measurement in minutes and is ideal for the development of portable, wearable and space constrained sensor applications.”
