Maxim Integrated MAXM15462 Compact Step-Down Power Module, available now from Mouser, has an integrated circuit and inductor that works over a wide input-voltage range. The module runs from 4.5V to 42V input and produces up to 300mA output current over a programmable output voltage from 0.9V to 5V. This simple-to-use step-down power module reduces design complexity, manufacturing risks, and provides a true plug-and-play power-supply solution. The device uses peak-current-mode control architecture through the MODE pin that can be used to run the device in PWM or PFM control schemes. To decrease input inrush current, the device provides an internal soft-start. The module is available in a low profile, compact 10-pin, 2.6mm x 3mm x 1.5mm, uSLIC package. The device operates over a wide temperature range from -40C to +125C.
