Hirose has developed a rugged FPC/FFC that offers high-heat resistance for harsh environment applications. With an operating temperature of up to 105C, the FH63 Series satisfies severe heat requirements found in automotive applications. The series is currently available in a 30 and 40-position versions and accepts shielded FFC for EMI prevention. Additional circuit sizes will become available. The connector meets rugged automotive mechanical characteristic requirements for shock and vibration as well as other environmental requirements including resistance to humidity, corrosion, extreme temperatures, and hydrogen and sulfur gasses.
"The FH63 Series connector is the latest version of Hirose's unique flexible printed circuit connectors designed to meet high-speed requirements for wide range of automotive electronic applications that are often subjected to continual shock and vibration," said Bill Kysiak, product marketing manager for Hirose Electric USA. "The single action lock combines ease of assembly with high reliability and ruggedness."
The connecters are often used in FA cameras, gaming consoles, industrial control units, medical devices, notebook PCs, servo amplifiers, and TVs.
