Medical power supplies deliver superior isolation and ultra-low leakage current

Luso Electronics is stocking EFORE’s branded isolated MDP400 medical-grade ultra-efficient AC/DC power supplies. Certified to the latest IEC 60601 MOOP and 2 x MOPP safety standards for isolation and low leakage current, the power supply units are ideal for medical imaging, dialysis, ultrasound and laser and laboratory equipment, among other devices. With typical efficiencies of 94% and efficiency load profiles that exceed 80 PLUS Platinum requirements, the series are the most efficient medical power supplies in their class. They are available in standard voltages of 12VDC, 24VDC, 36VDC and 48VDC, with auxiliary 12V fan and 5V stand-by outputs. The open-frame, U-chassis and perforated-cover versions of the device are suitable for challenging system designs where a low profile is desired for industry-standard 1U medical equipment designs, and where low power dissipation is necessary because of limited air movement. Rated for 250W with free-air convection and 400W with forced air, this power supply includes an integral 12V fan output, eliminating the need for an additional fan supply. The power supply can be disabled with a logic signal and dissipates less than 0.5W in stand-by mode, allowing for system-level Energy Star compliance. The series is also available in front and top fan versions equipped with a high-performance fan speed control that monitors operating conditions and applies the absolute minimum required airflow. This includes a fan off condition under light load operation (<50W). This optimises audible noise for fan-cooled products to the lowest levels possible and maximises fan life – an ideal combination for audio and process control systems where power supplies are sized for short-duration peak-demand cycles.
