Aimed at noise-reduction circuits in automotive Ethernet applications based on the BroadR-Reach 100 Mbps standard, Murata has announced mass production of the DLW43MH series of common-mode choke inductors. The newcomers join the company's expanding range of coils supporting other automotive communication protocols such as CANBUS and FlexRay. With an increasing sophistication in the automotive market, such as trends like autonomous driving and the use of cameras situated around the vehicle, the need to have a fast and reliable differential network to transport large amounts of data is essential. Murata has achieved the characteristics required for these networking applications by controlling the balance of the electrostatic stray capacitance between wires. Techniques used have included expertise gained from the methods employed in winding common-mode chokes for other high-speed network applications. The DLW43MH measures 4.5mm x 3.2mm x 2.7mm and achieves a common mode inductance of 200uH when measured at 100 kHz. The rated voltage is 20V, has a rated current of up to 100mA and a maximum DC resistance of 4.5ohm.
