Stocked by Digi-Key, Cherry/ZF Electronics' ANG series and LIN series are non-contact position sensors with one or two independent outputs. These sensors operate through the use of Hall effect technology with magnetic fields generated by permanent magnets. They provide a linear change in voltage output corresponding to a linear displacement of the actuator magnet. The ANG series position sensor is an intrinsically angular position sensor capable of one or even two redundant linear outputs. It is capable of 360 degree rotational sensing. Using Hall effect technology, the sensor can provide a linear output that is ratiometric to the input voltage that corresponds to the angle of rotation of the input shaft. To assure proper operation, the company recommends using the AS500106 actuator magnet. The ANG sensor has a maximum air gap of 6mm and comes with 305mm 20 AWG discrete wire leads. The LIN sensor series are available with one or two independent outputs. Using Hall effect technology, they use magnetic fields generated by permanent magnets to operate. This action provides a linear change in voltage output that is ratiometric to the input voltage corresponding to the linear displacement of the actuator magnet. The magnet included in the sensor kit is paired with the sensor for optimal performance. The sensor is suitable for a wide range of air gaps measuring up to 45mm, however it is calibrated to 4.5mm.
