Combining LPDDR2 DRAM and QSPI Flash for automotive and industrial applications

Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. announced sampling of a multi-chip package with 512Mb LPDDR2 DRAM and 1.8V 128Mb QSPI Flash. ISSI’s MCP solution enables the miniaturization of feature-rich, low-power applications through the combination of high-performance LPDDR2 DRAM and Serial NOR Flash into a small and consistent footprint. It is now available from Mouser. “The MCP line is a great addition to our AEC qualified portfolio and ideal for space constrained system boards, such as automotive ADAS applications,” said Lyn Zastrow, VP of ISSI’s automotive business unit. “This solution is the first in what will be a growing line of DRAM plus Flash MCPs. With ISSI’s MCP solution, automotive products such as camera and radar systems can support smaller footprints through both reduced ECU size and improved layout.” “Our automotive and industrial customers are very excited about the growing portfolio of ISSI products. ISSI continues to add new devices, while supporting both new and existing ones with very long lifecycles. Thanks to our long-term support, customers don’t have to re-qualify successive generations of products, which is an expensive and time-consuming process. Our customers value ISSI’s long term product support and high quality on SRAMs, DRAMs, and Flash, and the new MCP line will be no different,” said Barry Ansell, director of ISSI’s industrial and medical business unit.
