Step-down switching regulator for automotive applications

Designed for automotive systems, battery powered and car body applications, the AST1S31HF, available from Mouser, is an internally compensated 2.3MHz fixed frequency PWM synchronous step-down regulator. The AST1S31HF operates from 2.8V to 4V input, while it regulates an output voltage as low as 0.8 V and up to VIN. The device integrates a 70mohm high-side switch and a 55mohm synchronous rectifier allowing very high efficiency with very low output voltages. The peak current mode control with internal compensation delivers a very compact solution with a minimum component count. It is available in a 3mm x 3mm, 8-lead VFDFPN package.
