Mouser is now shipping the SMART SAM D09 ARM-Based microcontrollers from Atmel. The SAM D09 is a series of low-power microcontrollers based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ processor operating at a maximum frequency of 48MHz. The microcontrollers are designed for simple and intuitive migration between SAM D devices with identical peripheral modules, compatible code, and a linear address map. The microcontrollers boast a rich set of peripherals, flexibility, and ease-of-use at a low entry cost, making them ideal for a wide range of general-purpose uses, including home automation, consumer, metering, and industrial applications. Available devices includes intelligent and flexible peripherals, six-channel Atmel Event System for inter-peripheral signalling, and support for capacitive touch button, slider, and wheel user interfaces. The devices also include a six-channel direct memory access (DMA) controller, a programmable interrupt controller, 32-bit real-time clock and calendar, and two 16-bit Timer/Counters (TC), each of which can be configured to perform frequency and waveform generation. The SAM D09 devices provide two Serial Communication Modules (SERCOM) each of which can be configured as USART, UART, SPI, I2C, SMBus, PMBus, or LIN slave. The SAM D09 devices are available in a 24-pin QFN or 14-pin SOIC package version. The QFN version offers 22 general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins, 16 Kbytes of programmable flash memory, 4 Kbytes of SRAM, and a 10-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The SOIC version offers 12 GPIO pins, 8 Kbytes of programmable flash memory, 4 Kbytes of SRAM, and a 5-channel ADC.
