Designed for USB Type-C and HDMI 2.0 circuit protection, the Texas Instruments (TI) TPD4E02B04 4-Channel ESD protection diode array is now available from Mouser stock. The TPD4E02B04 is rated to dissipate ESD strikes at the maximum level specified in the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard (Level 4). This device features a 0.27pF IO capacitance per channel making it ideal for protecting high-speed interfaces up to 10Gbps such as USB 3.1 Gen2. The low dynamic resistance and low clamping voltage ensure system level protection against transient events. TPD4E02B04EVM Evaluation Module (EVM) Also available from Mouser stock, the Texas Instruments TPD4E02B04EVM Evaluation Module (EVM) contains five TPD4E02B04s. One TPD4E02B04 (U1) is configured with two SMA (J9 & J10) to an HDMI Type-A receptacle for capturing HDMI Eye Diagrams. One TPD4E02B04 (U2) is configured with 4 SMA (J1 - J4) connectors to allow 4-port analysis with a vector network analyzer. U2 is also configured for capturing ESD clamping waveforms using J7 with an oscilloscope during an ESD test. Two TPD4E02B04s (U3 & U4) are configured with test points (TP1 - TP8) for striking ESD to the protection pins. One TPD4E02B04 (U5) is configured with USB 3.1 Type-A (J5) and Type-B (J6) receptacles for capturing USB3.0 or USB 3.1 Eye diagrams for the Super Speed lines.
