Compact regulated DC-DC converters with medical-grade isolation

Available in 3W to 15W versions, Recom's REC series compact power supplies are now available from Digi-Key. They are offered in a variety of Industry-standard package types (DIP24, SMD, and 2" x 1") and are EN, UL and/or CB certified. They feature wide input ranges (2:1 and 4:1) and efficiencies up to 87%. These features make them versatile solutions for a variety of applications in the industrial controls, telecommunication, and medical arenas. Due to their high isolation of up to 10kVDC, the REC series converters are particularly effective at providing insulation. Multiple pinouts are available to match existing Industry-standard pinouts. The REC3.5 and REC6 carry the highest isolation; both are available with either 8kVDC or 10kVDC of reinforced isolation. These versions are especially suitable for medical applications where there is direct patient contact. This high degree of isolation also makes the REC3.5 and REC6 excellent for industrial controls with operator contact, high voltage circuits, power metering systems and IGBT drivers, says the company.
