onsemi’s Hyperlux ID Sensor Delivers 3D Depth Imaging at 60FPS with On-Chip Processing

At Embedded World 2025, Electropages stopped by the onsemi stand to check out their brand new Hyperlux™ ID image sensor — a powerful new platform combining high-resolution imaging with real-time depth sensing and on-chip processing. 

Danny Scheffer, Product Line Director at onsemi, explains how the sensor uses phase-detection time-of-flight technology to deliver accurate 3D mapping, even with moving objects. The result? Centimetre-level depth accuracy up to 30 metres, captured at 60 frames per second — all with on-chip processing, removing the need for complex external computation. 

Whether it's used in manufacturing, robotics, face recognition, collision avoidance, or warehouse automation, the Hyperlux ID sensor is enabling smarter, more efficient vision systems.
