Expanded multichannel capability of analyser now supports 16 ASIO channels

Audio Precision is excited to announce a considerable upgrade to its APx audio analyser series. Originally introduced in 2019 as their most affordable way to perform audio measurements, APx500 Flex now includes support for up to 16 ASIO channels.

The series previously allowed two-channel ASIO connectivity, with the option to upgrade to as many as eight channels. The price remains unchanged, but the number of channels included increases from two to 16. This drives down the price per channel for budget-conscious applications. This release also adds 16-channel ASIO support as standard to the APx517 acoustic analyser and the recently released APx516 analyser, expanding the range of analysers delivering this capability.

"This update makes APx500 Flex the highest value solution for multichannel audio test," said Dan Knighten, general manager at Audio Precision. "It's now easier and more affordable for engineers to perform high-quality measurements across multiple channels."

Designed to work with professional multichannel audio interfaces, APx500 Flex combines the power of the APx500 software platform with the flexibility of ASIO-based hardware. Common applications include:

  • Automotive cabin acoustic measurements
  • Production test environments where measuring multiple channels in parallel reduces time and cost

Whether testing in the lab or on the production line, APx500 Flex provides more capability for less cost, assisting audio product engineers to get the job done efficiently.
