When reliable electrical connections are needed in the smallest of spaces, binder's M9 portfolio offers compact circular connector solutions that perform even under challenging conditions. The 702, 711, and 712 series cover a wide range of protection classes, connection types, and technical requirements – from IP40 to IP67, shielded or unshielded, field-wireable or moulded. These rugged and flexible connector types are excellent for compact applications in industrial automation, medical technology, and test and measurement equipment.

Thanks to the particularly compact design, M9 connectors are totally suited for space-constrained applications. At the same time, they provide a high protection rating of up to IP67 and a robust screw locking mechanism. This ensures a mechanically stable and reliable connection, even in harsh environments exposed to vibration, moisture, or dust. As a result, the connectors greatly contribute to operational reliability across various fields of application.

The company offers three proven series in the M9 segment: Series 711 includes field-attachable and panel-mounted connectors in an IP40 version for devices used in standard environments. In contrast, Series 702 and 712 are equipped with IP67 protection and shielding, making them especially suitable for use in harsh industrial environments. Series 702 consists of overmoulded versions with variable cable lengths, while Series 711 features field-attachable and panel-mounted connectors. All versions are available with three to eight pins. Depending on the type, the housings are made of either metal or plastic. A mechanically robust screw locking system ensures a secure connection in all series, even in vibrating or mobile applications.

The M9 portfolio presents a wide range of variants. Depending on the application scenario, different designs are available. The selection between metal or plastic housings allows for tailored connector solutions in terms of environmental conditions, weight, or EMC requirements.

M9 connectors are employed wherever space is limited, but no compromises can be made in terms of quality and safety. In medical technology, they are integrated into mobile analysis and diagnostic devices. In industrial automation, they are used for signal and data transmission in compact control units or sensor systems. Further application areas include measurement and testing technology as well as the transportation and logistics sectors, for instance, in AGVs, where they ensure reliable connections. They are particularly suited for mobile devices that need a high protection rating – up to IP67 – and reliable signal transmission despite limited installation space.

Manufacturing these miniaturised connector components demands the highest precision. The company relies on automated processes with tightly controlled tolerances and rigorous quality control. Both electrical and mechanical properties are thoroughly tested. The series' proven IP67 sealing concept – in use for decades – remains a hallmark of quality, providing reliable performance even in challenging environments.

"Our M9 connectors have proven to be exceptionally reliable in a wide range of applications over many years. Thanks to their robust design and versatile usability, they will continue to be the right solution for a variety of compact technical applications in the future," explains Sebastian Ader, product manager at binder.
