Compact liquid cooled battery charger for industrial and mining applications

Bel Fuse Inc. has released its BCN25-1000 Series – a 25kW, liquid cooled battery charger that converts three-phase AC voltage to DC voltage.

Designed to be a compact solution for medium to heavy-duty vehicles and underground mining applications, the new charger is constructed from the latest, high-quality components. Suited to industrial trucks, excavators, cranes and the like where 1,000VAC is present, the series comes in two options: the 350-8 unit with a DC Output 240-430V/60A max, and the 700-8 unit with DC Output 480-860V/30A max.

The AC three-phase input has a range of 800-1100V and an output power up to 25kW, parallel to 100kW, making it ideal for use as an off-board charger with a typical efficiency of 92%, eradicating the necessity for transformers to lessen overall vehicle weight and cost. Providing over-temperature, output overvoltage, and overcurrent protections, the charger is SAE 1455 compliant for harsh environments and includes a J1939 compliant CAN for control and monitoring.

The series products are UL recognised components, IEC certified, and water resistant to IP65 and IP67 ratings.
