New relays deliver high dielectric strength with extended safety certification

14-02-2024 | Omron | Power

Omron Electronic Components Europe has expanded its relay portfolio with the G6RN-E for heat pumps, smart buildings, factory automation and energy applications. The latest model supplies current load to 10A, with extended dielectric strength to 6000VAC, high sensitivity with 220mW coil power consumption.

The new relays deliver greater safety, conforming to glow-wire test requirements for household and similar electrical appliances to IEC/EN60335-1 and conforming to explosion-proof certification IEC/EN60079-15. Fulfilling international safety standards for resistance to ignition. This makes them ideal to provide the safety of air conditioning equipment such as air conditioners and heat pumps.

The relays introduce a flux protection housing, delivering 6000VAC dielectric voltage between coil and contact. Further features include high insulation with an 8mm insulation distance, robust impulse withstand voltage of 10kV between coil and contacts, high sensitivity with 220mW coil power consumption, and ambient operating temperature of 85C and the standard model conforms to UL and VDE standards. Conformity to recommended building and factory automation applications expands to heat pump controllers, inverters, gas boilers, temperature controllers, and PLCs. Terminal arrangement and contact ratings are identical to existing Omron G6RL relays with the same pin.
