Traco Power has released its new TIM 6 series 6W medical DC-DC converters developed for cost-efficiency without sacrificing performance.

The series provides reinforced isolation of 5000VAC (250VAC Working Voltage) with a low leakage current of less than 2μA. Safety approved to ES 60601-1 and UL 62368-1 for 2 x MOPP applications and supported by an ISO 14971 risk management file and ISO 13485 (design and production). High efficiency up to 87% and high-grade components allow the converters to perform reliably over an ambient temperature range of –40C to +95C (with de-rating >55C). The series comprises 18 models with input ranges of 9-18VDC to 18-36VDC, 36VDC to 75VDC and single or dual 5, 12, and 15VDC outputs. These converters are reliable solutions for medical equipment and demanding applications such as transportation, control and measurement or IGBT drivers.

The series is supplied in a compact DIP-24 plastic case. The I/O isolation is 5000VAC rated for 250VAC working voltage. The series has certification according to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 3rd edition for 2 x MOPP, with risk management process according to ISO 14971, and acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies acc. to IPC-A-610 Level 3. The series can operate up to 5000m altitude. The series also includes a five-year product warranty.
