Innovative PCB solutions for the electronics industry

16-01-2024 | Quality Precision Electronics | Test & Measurement

Quality Precision Electronics is a full-service manufacturing and assembly company specialising in PCB prototyping, assembly, box-build and testing. Operating from a 25,000ft2 site in the original 'Silicon Glen' in Scotland, the company has spent 40 years delivering innovative PCB solutions to the electronics industry in many sectors, including oil and gas, defence and security, life sciences, transport and automotive, communications, and more.

The company returns to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics this February (stand C85) with a versatile showcase of real-life hardware representing some of the intricate PCB solutions it provides its customers. Using surface mount and pin-through technology, its service offering uses the quality and reliability of MyData and Horizon machinery. It includes NPI/ prototyping, material procurement, PCB assembly, AOI/X-ray inspection, functional/ reliability testing, conformal coating, potting/ encapsulation, final assembly/ box build, and distribution support.

Show visitors will see next-generation street data capture cameras for modern street mapping purposes and security cameras, which can deliver peak performance over low bandwidths with data transfer over Wi-Fi and cellular means.

Oil and Gas exploration is an area of expertise for the company, and the sector has used its PCB services and capabilities for many years. This is notably prevalent in oil and gas exploration activities, where potential sites are searched and located for drilling and extraction, utilising subsoil testing and seismic imaging. The data retrieval board technology supports the safe and efficient retrieval of data and will be available on the stand for this year's visitors.

Also, visitors can learn about the capabilities the company supplies its customers where detection requirements are critical. Deep-ocean tsunami detection seismic nodes in the North Pacific Ocean contain QPE-assembled PCB boards, which are integral to tsunami detection activity. These boards will be available to view and discuss with its experts at the show.

Gas detection electronic components, assembled by the company's experienced team using the latest technology, are essential to ongoing climate change control measures. This equipment facilitates the monitoring and analysis of atmospheric emissions of CO2 by vehicles. This data is crucial for reducing emissions' impact on the climate.
