Dynamic colour effects for colourful interior lighting

Rutronik now stocks the intelligent RGB LEDs of the OSIRE 3731i series from ams OSRAM. The light source includes an integrated driver, improved colour accuracy, and increased brightness. The OSP allows serial data communication between hundreds of LEDs to execute virtually any colour algorithm. Thanks to the combination of intelligent LED and OSP, car manufacturers can implement dynamic interior lighting more cost-efficiently with a simpler architecture, fewer components, and less cabling. The LEDs come in an SMD housing.

The intelligent RGB components include an embedded IC containing optical measurement data set values of 10mA and 50mA. An external microcontroller can control every device in a daisy-chain architecture through an open system protocol that permits the controller to read data. This allows the execution of any colour algorithm with enhanced accuracy and homogeneity. The devices are predestined for applications in vehicle interiors that need highly dynamic RGB lighting scenarios and supply a broad colour spectrum and increased brightness for dynamic colour effects.

The LEDs need a supply voltage of 5VDC. The optimum operating temperature is between -40C and +110C.

The device features include an integrated μDriver. Colour emissions are red (612-630nm), true green (513-545nm), blue (450-480nm) and a beam angle of 120°. Corrosion robustness class 2B is provided, and the device is AEC-Q102-003-qualified.
