Bidirectional power supplies with energy recycle offer 93% efficiency

TTI Europe is now stocking the BIC-2200 bidirectional AC/DC power supplies with an energy recycle function from MEAN WELL.

The single, compact unit can deliver AC grid power to DC for charging purposes, but it converts the DC energy back to the AC grid when it needs to be discharged. This innovative bidirectional capability from one compact unit fulfils the size, weight, performance, and cost (SWaP-C) needs for battery formation and test equipment manufacturers, V2G systems, EV charging stations, industrial laser equipment, and kinetic recovery systems.

With built-in functions like active current sharing, remote ON/OFF control and CANBus mode, the series provides vast design flexibility. Also, the discharging timing can be programmed to achieve peak-shaving and valley-filling, lowering electricity costs during the charging process.

"With our close relationship with MEAN WELL and expert knowledge and experience in power supply integration in these wide-ranging charge/discharge applications, we are well positioned to assist in your projects and design developments," said Ros Kruger, technical marketing director, TTI Europe. "The BIC-2200 bidirectional power supplies enable us to help our customers reduce overall costs and, more importantly, lower maintenance costs and improve system reliability."
