New Yorker Electronics now offers Vishay Interology’s newly enhanced Vishay Draloric RCS0805 e3 anti-surge thick film resistor in the 0805-case size with a higher power rating of 0.5W. With its increased power rating, the device can now replace four standard parallel resistors in the 0805-case size, two parallel devices in the larger 1206 case size, or one resistor in the 1210 case size. This enables designers to conserve board space in automotive, industrial, telecommunications, and medical applications while reducing component counts and placement costs. The device excels in applications subject to high and repetitive surge pulses.

The resistor also delivers superior pulse load performance and ESD surge characteristics compared to standard chip resistors for applications subject to high and repetitive surge pulses. AEC-Q200 qualified, the device features a resistance range from 1-Ohm to 10MOhm — and 0-Ohm jumper – with tolerances of ±0.5%, ±1%, and ±5%, and TCR of ±100ppm/K and ±200ppm/K. The resistor provides an operating voltage of 150V and an operating temperature range of -55C to +155C.

RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, the device is ideal for automatic assembly systems processing and wave, reflow, or vapour phase soldering per IEC 61760-1. Samples of the enhanced device are available now.
