SCHURTER has released its new FXP fuse holder with increased power ratings. The closed fuse holder solves a longstanding industry challenge involving power dissipation limitations for fuse holders employed at higher operating currents and temperatures.

Its new fuse holder sets a new benchmark in performance and versatility as the market’s first fuse holder for 6.3x32 fuses to comply with the forthcoming extension of the IEC standard 60127-6. Taking the lead in addressing critical needs for fuse holders with greater thermal performance, it initiated the extension to IEC 60127-6, which improves the rated current from a maximum of 16A to 25A. Consequently, the innovative high-performance shock-safe fuse holder carries the 25A rating at 500VAC. It also doubles the power acceptance rating from 4W to 8W at Ta +23C.

VDE approved at 25A at 500VAC, and cURus approved for a maximum of 45A at 600VAC/VDC, the robust product is extremely compact, allowing easier integration into space-constrained applications. As well as high thermal performance, it also satisfies stringent vibration and shock tests, making it excellent for heavier-duty applications. It is IP40-rated and salt mist tested.

Developed for streamlined assembly, the fuse holder offers a unique snap-in system for quick installation. It features solder terminals, providing secure and reliable electrical connections. Shock-safe and accessible by tool only, the fuse drawer prioritises safety against accidental tampering. The fuse holder retains the fused drawer to prevent accidental loss. It is RoHS compliant and bears the CE, UKCA, and REACH markings.
