Board for prototyping wireless applications available now

19-05-2023 | Mouser Electronics | Test & Measurement

Mouser now stocks the WBZ451 Curiosity Board from Microchip Technology. The board supplies engineers with an efficient and versatile development platform for prototyping wireless lighting, industrial automation, smart home and IoT applications.

The board is created for prototyping and demonstrating the abilities of the company's WBZ451PE BLE and Zigbee RF module. The module is integrated into the board, and its signals are readily accessible via the onboard features. The Curiosity Board arrives preconfigured with an out-of-the-box, multi-protocol demo application, a temperature sensor, a current measurement header, and an RGB LED.

The board provides integrated programming and debugging features using the PICkit Onboard 4 (PKOB4) debugger interface and needs only a micro-USB cable to power up and program the board. The board also includes a mikroBUS Click header, which assists users to expand functionalities by connecting to different MikroElectronika, mikroBUS click boards.

The PIC32CX-BZ2 and WBZ45 family is a series of low-cost, general-purpose 32-bit microcontrollers and modules for wireless applications. The PIC32CX-BZ2 microcontrollers support multi-protocol wireless interfaces (Bluetooth and Zigbee) and include a hardware-based security accelerator, transceiver and PMU. The RF-certified WBZ45 modules combine the PIC32CX-BZ2 wireless microcontrollers with a PCB or u.FL connector for external antennas.
