Tantalum nitride anti-moisture precision resistors suit multiple applications

21-04-2023 | Stackpole | Passives

Current market conditions have made finding generally used components such as precision chip resistors more difficult. If the application needs robust stability and moisture withstanding, tantalum nitride technology is a superb solution. Unfortunately, these resistors often have long lead times and are not typically available from stock.

Stackpole Electronic’s RTAN series is an AEC-compliant precision chip resistor with many popular resistance values available from stock in the 0805 and 1206 sizes. Also, the lead times on the RTAN are generally 12-16 weeks depending on chip size.

The series sputtered resistive element is constructed from tantalum nitride, supplying a resistor with high stability and reliability that is impervious to moisture. Therefore, the RTAN series can withstand harsh environmental conditions, especially where high humidity or moisture is a concern.

The RTAN series is ideal for various precision application requirements, including instrumentation, aerospace, test equipment, industrial controls, portable communications diagnostic equipment, and portable medical devices.
