Seamless connectivity and low power consumption Wi-Fi IC

Nordic Semiconductor has created the nRF7002, a companion IC for integrating seamless Wi-Fi 6 connectivity into multiple applications. It is available now from Rutronik. The device is a cost-effective and power-saving option and inspires with high speed, enhanced range and the superb reliability of the latest Wi-Fi standard. The companion IC is currently unique in this form in the Nordic portfolio and may be optimally combined with their Ultra Low Power technologies. It is also compatible with its existing nRF52 and nRF53 series Bluetooth SoCs and nRF91 series cellular IoT SiPs. Thanks to these features, the IC is ideal for a range of applications, for example, in smart city, smart agriculture, smart home, wearables and medical.

The IC functions on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands, delivering various options for connecting to networks. The device is a cost-effective and powerful solution for furnishing products with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technologies, making it excellent for medical or inventory tracking applications. Its low power consumption makes it especially interesting for battery-powered wireless products.

The device is intended to be employed with the nRF Connect SDK. The platform has many tools and libraries for developing applications, for which this IC is the optimal choice.
