Alternistor TRIACs provide easier thermal management

Littelfuse QJxx30xH4 30A Alternistor TRIACs, available now from Mouser, enable easier thermal management and higher surge handling capability in AC power control applications. These TRIACs in I, II, and III quadrants and provide high performance in applications needing high commutation capability.

The devices feature 150C maximum junction temperature, 350A ITSM at 60Hz half cycle, and up to 800V voltage capability. They are halogen-free, RoHS compliant, and are available in TO-220 isolated packages.

Typical applications include heater control in coffee brewer, tankless water heater, and infrared heater; AC sold-state relays, incandescent and LED light dimmers; and motor speed control for kitchen appliances, power tools, home brow/white goods, and compressor motor control.
