Compact encoder offers PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP

Wachendorff has expanded its range of Ethernet-based encoders. Encoders with the EtherNet/IP protocol are now offered – including the most compact in the world – the WDGA58F. Its R&D team has minimised the sensor to an installation depth of just 46.5mm.

The encoders are certified by the ODVA. The resolution in single and multi-turn may be configured individually through an integrated web server (single-turn 16 bit, multi-turn 43-bit).

The extremely high environmental data, e.g. temperature range from -40C up to +85C, shock 1,000m/s² or vibration 50m/s² at 10-2000Hz, enable the employment in harsh industrial environments and in mobile working machines.

The devices with hollow end shafts eradicate the requirement for extra couplings, and the devices with shafts ensure a long-lasting and stable connection with very high bearing loads of up to 400N.

In the Universal Industrial Ethernet version, it is achieveable to switch between Ethernet/IP, EtherCat and PROFINET. This noticeably decreases storage costs and increases flexibility.
