Tektronix, Inc has unveiled the 2 Series Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO), reimagining what is possible in test and measurement. The new MSO can go seamlessly from the bench to the field and back, facilitating workflows previously unimagined on a scope. The first portable oscilloscope provides benchtop performance and the company's award-winning user interface. Weighing less than 1.8kgs and 38mm thin, the MSO fits into a small backpack, providing unmatched performance and portability.

With the series, engineers can accomplish things not possible on earlier oscilloscopes. The easy to use 10.1" touchscreen display makes working on the go simpler and faster. The built-in capabilities of the optional AFG, pattern generator, voltmeter and frequency counter indicate users have versatility built into one instrument – improving what they can do while lowering the number of instruments to carry or purchase. With up to eight hours of battery power, engineers will uncover a new level of freedom on the job.

"This breakthrough product was a direct result of our proven Growth Accelerator innovation process and continued focus on our customers," said Tami Newcombe, Tektronix president. "Our team worked closely with engineers to deeply understand their unique needs. We cannot wait to see how the 2 Series MSO improves the way our customers work."

The MSO joins the strong line-up of other oscilloscopes. This makes it easier for engineers to work freely around these products. At the same time, the easy-to-use experience means engineers can do more in less time. With the feel of a mobile device, debugging is quicker and more intuitive. The coloured LED ring lights around the knobs display active sources or parameters to adjust or indicate status.
