synchronous step-down converters with internal built-in power MOSFETs

Monolithic Power Systems MPQ2178 Synchronous Step-Down Converters, available now from Mouser, are monolithic and switch-mode converters with internal built-in power MOSFETs. These converters attain 2A of continuous output current over a 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage range with a good load and line regulation. The output voltage (VOUT) of the synchronous step-down converters can be regulated to as low as 0.6V for the adjustable output version. These converters provide 1% Feedback accuracy, 2.4MHz switching frequency, fixed output options, 100% duty cycle, and external Soft Start control.

The converters use a Constant-On-Time control with input voltage feed-forward to stabilise the Switching Frequency over the entire input range.

Typical applications include automotive infotainment, industrial supplies, industrial supplies, camera modules, key fobs, and battery-powdered devices.
