New Yorker Electronics has stated Cornell Dubilier Electronics’ growing 380LX and 381LX aluminium electrolytic capacitor series includes voltages up to 600VDC. According to the company, the new ratings are intended to serve the company’s industrial electronics customers who continue to drive the application boundaries for these components into higher voltages.

The series provides a published load life of 3,000 hours when tested at rated voltage and ripple current at rated temperature. The 380LX series is designed for 85C operation, while the 381LX series satisfies the same load life at 105C. These components provide outstanding life in real-life applications where conditions are commonly lower than the capacitor’s maximum specified ratings.

Newly added capacitance values in the range of 15µF to 330µF are provided at 550VDC and 600VDC in the 380LX series and 140µF to 340µF at 500, 550 and 600Vdc in the 381LX series. These new ratings are equipped with enhanced ripple current capability, up to 3.7A at full-rated conditions.

These higher voltage snap-in capacitors are expected to be employed in the latest inverter circuits for renewable energy, motor drives, UPS systems, battery chargers, welders and other applications that demand the highest performance components to enhance system reliability.
