E+E Elektronik offers its first digital temperature sensing element in the form of the TEE501. It provides measurement accuracy of up to ±0.2C and a wide temperature range. The small DFN enclosure with integrated pull-up resistors enables the design-in of the sensing element.

The sensing element is ideal for temperature measurements from -40C to 135C. Multi-point temperature adjustment as a factory standard ensures exceptional measurement accuracy of up to ±0.2C. The very good measuring performance and exceptional repeatability make the sensing element the ideal solution for demanding measurement tasks. Its potential uses are versatile and vary from building automation and household electronics to medical devices.

The small dual-flat-no-leads DFN-enclosure has a footprint of just 2.5mm x 2.5mm2, enabling it to be accommodated in almost any application. The integrated pull-up resistors further assist integration with the customer's design. The sensing element needs a supply voltage of 2.35-3.6V for operations.

The I2C interface provides interference-free data communication with the device, supporting communication speeds of 100/400/1000kHz. The measured values are output in a 16-bit integer format and are directly provided for downstream processing. A CRC checksum and glitch suppression assure robust I2C interface communication.

Individually selectable I2C addresses make it possible to operate up to eight sensing elements on a single I2C bus.
