Mouser now stocks the QorIQ LX2160A, LX2120A, and LX2080A (LX2) Layerscape processors from NXP Semiconductors. Created on up to 16 Arm Cortex-A72 processor cores, the LX2 processors provide scalable data path acceleration logic, as well as the network and bus interfaces needed to support applications covering storage, networking, wireless infrastructure, aerospace, defence, and telecommunications.

The processors comprise the LX2160A, LX2120A, and LX2080A, including 16, 12, and eight Arm Cortex-A72 processor cores, respectively, achieving a high performance of up to 2.2GHz. The processors are supported by a consistent API producing both simple and complex manipulation of the devices' hardware peripherals.

The processors feature 16MB cache, 2MB packet caching buffer, and a 122Gbit/s Layer 2 Ethernet switch. The versatile processors provide up to 16 Ethernet ports, up to 24 PCIe Gen4 lanes, and 24 SerDes lanes operating up to 25 GHz.

For designs with size limitations, the processors offer the processing abilities of the LX2xx0A devices in approximately a quarter of the size. Ideal for small boards, including network interface cards and custom daughter cards, the LX2xx2A processors combine low-power 16nm FinFET process technology to support optimum performance in a limited form factor.
