XP Power has launched the HRC05 series of 5W regulated high-voltage DC-DC converters that offer a fully adjustable and reliable output voltage up to 6kVDC in a small package. Models in the series give design engineers working on high voltage integration with a comprehensive set of features as standard in one compact footprint. Key highlights incorporate the low line and load regulation (<0.01%) and exceptional ripple performance (<0.01%), offering accurate and reliable high voltage for long term applications. All models are approved to IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, 61010-1 standards and are UKCA and CE marked to applicable directives and legislation for global use.

The input voltage of the series is 24VDC nominal, with an operating range from 22VDC to 30VDC. It is provided in 18 models with positive or negative DC outputs ranging from 0V to 350V up to 0V to 6000V. The output voltage can be modified from 0 to 100% with the onboard 0VDC to +5VDC reference input for simple high voltage integration and control. Voltage and current monitor outputs are also incorporated in the standard package.

The PCB mount, convection-cooled units measure only 65mm x 33mm x 14mm (WxLxH). The devices are housed in a UL94V-0 rated encapsulation material and five-sided metal case that is internally grounded, providing optimal mechanical integration and robustness into the system and space-saving. The operating temperature range of the series is -40C to +70C, with no current derating over the range. Stability is 100ppm over eight hours (after a 30-minute warm-up).

The series provides short circuit, arc, overload, and over-temperature protection circuitry and remote on/off to secure the safety of the device and the application in which it is installed. Typical applications include mass spectrometry, electrophoresis, electrostatic chuck, capacitor charging, detectors, SEMs, imaging, and diagnostics equipment.
